Walkers Gate

The steep topography of this site required a construction design that integrated retaining structures into the development and landscape design. The lack of natural watercourses or storm drainage in the area of this site meant a unique drainage design was required which attenuates and infiltrates 100% of the site runoff within the development through a combined above-and-below ground infiltration system.

Once realised the system prevents any runoff from leaving the site up to the 1 in 100 year storm event allowing an additional 20% for climate change. This site also required the design and construction of a foul pump station to allow sewage runoff to the public network. This Type 3 pump station was designed in compliance with the Uisce Éireann Code of Practice.
